Illinois DocAssist recognizes the vital need to provide psychiatric consultation in support of primary care providers treating patients during pregnancy. Effective July 1, 2019, Illinois DocAssist is enhancing its support to expectant mothers through the introduction of consultation services related to the delivery of medication-assisted treatment (MAT). Opioid agonist pharmacotherapy, also known as MAT, continues to be the recommended therapy for pregnant women with an opioid use disorder.
In addition to the expansion of support to MAT, Illinois DocAssist is announcing enhanced support for Substance Use Disorder treatment through the delivery of face-to-face trainings. These trainings will specifically cover medication-assisted treatment (MAT).
The Illinois DocAssist consultation service is available at no cost to PCPs and other mid-level mental health providers serving HFS enrolled participants. Illinois DocAssist is available Monday through Friday, 9:00AM to 5:00 PM, except holidays, and can be reached toll-free at: 1-866-986-ASST (2778).
