BEACON: A New Mental Health Service Access Portal for Illinois Youth

As January draws to a close, we share several important and timely resources for supporting the mental health of children and families in Illinois.

Finding the right resources to successfully connect children and families to mental health supports can be confusing and time consuming. Illinois DocAssist makes it easier by providing free psychiatric consultation and resource and referral assistance. Start a request by visiting our website or calling 866-986-2778.

BEACON is a new centralized platform designed to revolutionize how Illinois families are connected with the behavioral health services they need. The system makes it easier for families to get help by streamlining the process of finding resources; connecting families with professionals who can help; ensuring families receive timely and coordinated support by enabling collaboration among state agencies; and empowering families to make informed decisions about their children’s health. Learn more about the system on IDPH's Progress and Updates page.
